When It Rains

Traveled all the way to the beach and the weather forecast is filled with rain and clouds? Not to fret! There are plenty of ways to enjoy the Outer Banks while staying dry!

• Movie Day – Grab some microwave popcorn at the local grocery store and rifle through the house's DVD collection or spend $1 or $2 on movies at the movie kiosk at the grocery store while picking up that popcorn. • Game Day – Many houses come equipped with cards and board games, pool tables, darts and foosball. If you have a favorite, be sure to add it to your Packing List (link to what to bring). Otherwise, you can always pop over to the local grocery store, Walmart, or K­Mart for additional games or cards.
• Shopping – From boutiques to antiques, thrift stores to outlets, the Outer Banks has shopping options to please any shopper's needs and interests. Head down to the Tanger Outlets in Nags Head (http://www.tangeroutlet.com/nagshead/) or stop along the highway or beach road when a store catches your eye.
• Reading – That book that you brought from home to read on the beach? Just as enjoyable in the house, and with less sand!

Or there's always a host of Activities to do that might be outdoors, but might still be enjoyable in just a raincoat - like going to the Hatteras Lighthouse!
